Junior High AthleticsThe Newark Catholic Junior High athletic program operates under the rules of the Ohio High School Athletic Association and is a combined effort of Blessed Sacrament and St. Francis de Sales schools. The athletic program is an extracurricular activity which supports the school philosophy. Students in grades 7-8 are invited to participate in such sports as football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, golf, and track & field.

Elementary Athletics
There are many opportunities available for our elementary age students to participate in athletics. While the school does not sponsor these teams directly, local organizations like the YMCA do a great job of matching our students and those of St. Francis de Sales together on teams.
In addition, the Newark Catholic community - parents, coaches and volunteers - have formed the GreenWave Youth Athletic Association as a way to provide youth sports to our 3-6 grade athletes.

Drama ClubThe Blessed Sacrament Drama Club is comprised of students grades K-8 who have a passion for performing.
This year the Drama Club performed Seussical, the Musical, Jr. as our spring musical. It had several great parts for our young performers and also emphasizes our Church’s life-affirming message that “a person’s a person, no matter how small.”

Band
Under the direction of Mrs. Lee, music teacher at St. Francis de Sales, band is offered to students beginning in the fifth grade. Students are given the opportunity to showcase their musical talent at concerts and pep band performances.

Youth Choir
Students in grades 5-8 who have an interest in singing are encouraged to participate in the school's yourth choir. The Blessed Sacrament youth choir lead musical praise during the weekly school masses and can be heard the First Sunday each month at the 10:30am mass.

Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts provides a structured and engaging environment where young boys and girls can learn valuable life skills, build friendships, and develop a strong sense of character and citizenship.

Robotics Clubs
Robotics club brings together students with an interest in robotics and technology through hands-on projects where members to work together to design, build and program robots for specific tasks and challenges.
